Update on my activity

N.B.: This website is  not being updated. If you have some important changes to a post, write a comment. I will get an e-mail about that once in a while and can approve those comments in one click. Be sure to read the comments under each post to read about the latest updates!

Dear readers,

These past months my interest has shifted to other activities outside this game. Therefore I haven’t updated anything on the website, only logged in on the forums once in a blue moon and rarely logged onto my farm. I actually kind of like the extra time I have to do my other activities and therefore I think I can say that this will continue for quite a while longer.

I do not want to completely break all bonds to the game and say goodbye, so I will be around once in a while still. However, I will not pick my activity back up, most likely.

Thank you all for the great years of Big Farm where we played together, posted on the forums together and had a lot of fun. I wish you all good luck with your farms and of course I still welcome new and experienced players onto this site to read the information that may still help them improve their gameplay.

Kind regards,

Larino

Matilda’s Famous Mushroom Stew

Mushroom event1Fall has come in Big Farm and Matilda is excited about all the mushrooms growing on your farm every night. She has an old recipe book in which a recipe for a mushroom stew is written. She would love to make this stew, but the book has fallen apart and parts of the recipe are missing! The event needs us to find those missing parts of the recipe on our farms and every day we need to collect 10 mushrooms, for fun rewards. The event runs for 10 days.

Upon collecting all the cooking book pages, we will get a Mushroom Cottage decoration, 5×5 with 65 happiness. When finding all the mushrooms each day, we can get a set of rewards. For 30 total mushrooms you get 1 rose seed, for 50 total mushrooms you get 2 WoF tokens, for 70 total mushrooms you get 2 seaweed humus, for 90 total mushrooms you get 30 seaweed fertilizer and finally for 100 total mushrooms you get a Overgrown Tree Stump deco, 4×4 and 37 happiness.

The market

Finally the dust has settled a little and the market seems to be a mediocre addition. There are definitely positive sides, but also a few negative. I took some time to familiarize myself with how it works and to figure out the traps in it. And here we are, with a new article on the newly added market. How does it work?

Market screenshot

The market consists of three elements. A stall with contracts, some neighbours visiting for some quick shopping and a vendor. I will explain them all below.

Contracts

If you click the market, a tab in your farm management will open with several contracts. There are two at first, but as you progress and complete more contracts your market will visibly grow and more contracts are added. If you click a contract, it will ask for one or more products from the farms you have unlocked. If you do not want to provide these products or you do not have them in stock, you can decline the contract. After declining, the contract will go on a cooldown for half an hour. This cooldown can be skipped for gold, obviously, but I do not consider that worth it.

If you do want to deliver, click on ‘add products’ and move the slider(s) up. If you have enough products in stock and move the slider(s) up completely you will add all the products the contract asks for and it completes. With a final click on the truck button you send the products away and get your money. If you want to add products in parts (or perhaps you have to, since the contract asks for more than your storage can hold or more than you have in stock) you can move the sliders partly up or first donate the max in your storage and later donate the rest.

There are two types of contracts. Limited and regular. Limited contracts usually give you an hour to fill them. Therefore it is best to not start filling before you are certain you have all products it asks for ready at once. Regular contracts do not have a timer and therefore wait for you to fill them for however long you want.

Contracts tend to give between 3-6% more dollars than selling the products directly from your farm management at first. The further you progress on your market, the larger the bonus becomes. There have been reports of 20% extra dollars already and even extra horseshoes, karma points or XP on top of it. Do make sure that you still hold enough products in stock to keep running your farm (bakery, flower shop, fill the ship, etc), which should always be priority!

A limited contract will clearly show a timer, like this:

Market limited contract

When a contract is on cooldown it will show you this:

Market contract cooldown

To supply products, follow these steps:

Market add products

The vendorMarket vendornwhm4l

The vendor comes by once in a while carrying a bubble with dollars above his head. Be wary
of that, it may be tempting to click it because you think you receive these dollars. That is not true, you need to provide the dollars and you will get a gift in return. The vendor usually shows a dollar amount and a question mark if you hover the bubble. This question mark indicates the gift you will get for your dollars is secret. There are also offers with non-secret gifts. Usually the gifts are not considered of enough value for the amount of dollars you deliver, and it depletes your dollar stack drastically if you keep on trying your luck. Gifts may include a bag of 10 feed (any type), some raw materials (like wheat or corn or barley), a bag of humus or fertilizer.

Neighbours
Once in a while some neighbours will come to visit.

Market neighbour 2These are unknown big farm characters (or just random people) with a bubble above their heads that pictures the product they want. If you want to deliver, you can simply click the bubble and the delivery completes, giving you your money. If you deliver fast enough they will give a bonus on top of the base price they are willing to pay and walk off with a very happy face above their heads. The base price is always a bit higher than the farm management price. Be careful with this, though, since you may run out of stock for running your farms (bakery, flower shop, fill the ship, etc) and running the farms should always be priority!

The market is of course very new and still has to be balanced out. Especially the vendor is not to everyone’s liking. The market also does not work the way it should yet and the mess it brought with it has made a lot of people weary about using it (including me). Whenever I have new information, I will edit it into this post.

Addiktz article

Today I got some pingbacks from a website that appears to help gamers from all over the world in many different games with their tutorials and tips. I didn’t know it yet, but it sure looks official! They set up a list of the 10 articles from Larino’s Corner that they find most helpful to save your time, increase your gold and up your happiness. I am definitely thrilled to find that these people consider it worthwhile to refer to my posts, so they deserve a mention on this site as well!

No pain, no gain – George’s silo event

Silo eventThe silo event has started and confuses many players amongst us. How does it work exactly? Which box to fill? How much time do I have and why does this change all the time? This post will answer most of your questions. The silo event runs for about 2 to 3 days. In those days you can get two types of rewards. First type are the hard work rewards. Currently there are 40 of those and they need you to gather a certain amount of points to win them. You can cycle through them when the event runs to see which rewards you will win for which amount of points. The second type is the ranking reward. Every group of players (based on level) will have a shot at one of the 5 ranking rewards (also based on level). You will need to lift yourself into the top 5 to win it, though, which makes this reward very difficult to get for non gold users (actually just impossible). This is what the event looks like: No pain, no gain The silo consists of 3 boxes in a row. You will have to view these boxes from right to left. The right-most box is positioned under a funnel. On that funnel is a gauge metre and a timer. You can start the timer by harvesting at least 1 piece of the product the box asks for. Once the timer has started you can see how much time you have left to harvest the next amount of product. When the timer runs out, the box will close and the middle box will move over to the right. A new box will appear on the left as well. Boxes technically cannot be filled. They are bottom-less. The only way a box will be considered filled is when the funnel goes empty. This happens when you cannot or did not harvest any more products before the timer on the gauge metre runs out. If you hover your mouse over the funnel, you will see how much of your product it needs to move up a gauge level. The higher the gauge level, the faster the machine works and the more points per second you get. But, there is a tiny problem. The machine is quite old and the more you ask of it, the more difficult it becomes for it to process all those products. That translates into a time penalty. Once you reach about gauge 4 or 5 the time will start becoming shorter with every new gauge level (you get more time when you harvest, but when you move up 1 gauge level this time will be cut drastically). Eventually it will be impossible for you to get another harvest in within the time that is left. That will likely be around gauge level 7 or 8.

Starting a box of for example corn or wild flowers off with a full batch of specials with humus will immediately send you up to around gauge 8 probably. This will give you 8 points per second, but will also make the time to harvest normal crops quite short. Which is the best strategy is not certain. You can either let it run steady with less points for a while or let it run fast and switch on to the next box quickly to harvest a new type of product. If you keep the machine going for about 1 full day it is very likely you are already able to get 20 rewards easily. Reaching all 40 rewards has appeared to be almost impossible for anybody at the moment. The average amount of points you can reach by running the machine on an average speed with a medium to high amount of playtime is 600k to 700k.

At the moment the machine is still a bit wobbly and buggy, timers are not working correctly and it may be unbalanced as to how easy or difficult it is to get certain rewards. I am sure this will be changed in the future by GGS in one of their updates.

Hoping to have answered your questions about this event,

Computers 101

For the computer illiterate or not so computer savvy people amongst us, here is a post with all the most common stuff the modern world basically asks you to master. Some are required by the game support, others are particularly handy to learn so you save a lot of time. This post discusses the following topics:

  1. Clearing caches
  2. Using several tabs in a browser
  3. Copy-paste
  4. How do I take a screenshot
  5. How to share an image online

Note: Wherever is written to press several buttons simultaneously, it means you will need to press and hold the first button and then press the second while holding the first.

1. How to clear caches?

Clearing caches is a common first fix of several game problems. Read here how to clear these caches.

First things first: What are caches?

Caches are temporary files stored on your computer that hold information about a web page. This can be certain settings about your game, for example a high quality and animations on or off. But it is also saving the way your game looks. These files make the loading of your game faster, since the computer can just use old data stored on the device itself and does not need to retrieve the data from the servers online (which takes longer and is more demanding). As you may imagine by now, having an old version of the game open every time is not always very handy, since sometimes the game changes and the old version will be a sort of overlay over the new. That sometimes causes elements of the game to work badly or show the wrong information. To solve this, you need to throw out these temporary files once in a while, so the computer is forced to retrieve new data from the servers online and load the correct version of the game. Usually clearing caches, therefore, solves display errors and makes certain elements work correctly again. Clearing caches is a common first trouble shooting fix and whenever you have a problem with the game, everybody will ask you if you had already tried this approach to make sure it was not a problem with your computer loading an old version of the game over the new good working one.

Now how do I do it?

Clearing caches is different on every browser, but still quite similar. It can usually be found in the options of your browser. Take a look at the menu bar and look for options. When you click it, you will see a lot of settings you can change. You now need to look for temporary files. These may be accompanied by browsing history and/or cookies. Usually there is an option there to clear these cookies and files. Once you have found that option, first check what the computer will clear. Sometimes it will also clear your passwords, tabs history or browsing history (some people would rather keep some of these, because it makes browsing easier). If you see something you would rather keep, uncheck the box in front of it. Then you hit clear (or remove) and your temporary files will be gone for the time being. You may need to restart your browser for this to have the best effect. Cannot find where to clear the cache in your browser? Here is a page where every browser is being discussed including screenshots to help you out: (click here)

Sometimes you also need to clear your Flash cache. The Flash player is used by the game to run it smoothly. This player also stores images and data to load the farm quicker, which may cause display errors and other errors. To find out how to clear your flash cache you can check this page: (click here) At the bottom of this site you can find another 4 tutorials how to clear your browser cache on the 4 most used browsers in case the other one still was not clear.

One more thing I need to mention is the quick cache clearing on 1 tab only. Sometimes it helps to do solely this, sometimes it helps to combine both ways of clearing cache to get the best results. To do a full reload (clear cache) on your game, you need to open the game, click the address bar (the bar where the link is shown) and press the buttons CTRL and F5 simultaneously (press CTRL, hold it and press F5 while you are holding CTRL). The page will reload. This is not a full clearing of the caches, but may be just that fix your game needed to work properly again.

2. Using several tabs in a browser.

Using several tabs may not be common sense for everybody. It is quite a handy feature of your browser though. Read here why you would want to use several tabs and how to open that second tab.

Why would I use several tabs?

You may think this has nothing to do with the game, but in fact it has. Most of you are playing just one farm. Work enough already, right? For some starting a second farm (always on a different server, on the same server is not allowed!) is a challenge or just to revisit some of the mistakes in the past and set them straight on their new farm. Both farms can run simultaneously, but you need to think of a few things. There are two ways to do this, namely. First of all, you can use two different browsers. Running your first farm on for example Firefox and your second on Google Chrome is an option. The advantage of this option is that both browsers can store a different password and you can leave the auto log-in option up. This means that the browsers will automatically log-in on the correct farm. You will need to have two browsers installed though.

If you want both games to run in the same browser, this is possible as well. You open two different tabs and open the farm on both. The only downside is that you need to uncheck the auto log-in option, because the first tab will log you in on the farm you last visited. Then the second tab will do the same and kick you off the farm on the first tab. If you reconnect on the first tab and it auto logs in you will be kicked off the second tab, etc. That does not work. You will have to log in manually for this option to work.

Besides running 2 farms, you can also run a farm and the forums simultaneously. This allows you to easily switch back to the farm to harvest and then continue browsing on the forums in your second tab. Or maybe you want to run other websites to look for your favourite dog breed or that nice new camera you wanted to buy.

How do I do this?

If you hadn’t heard about different tabs yet, this is how you open them: a tab shows what is on that page of your browser. Usually the tab is located between the menu bar and the address bar. It has a rectangular shape, about 1cm high and 5 or 6 centimetres long. Next to that tab you will usually find a plus sign or a small square. If you click that, you will open a new tab. Both tabs have their own address bar and the new web address you type on your second tab will take you to a new page, while the page on your first tab will remain the same and untouched. You can switch tabs by clicking the rectangle you would like to show the page. The more tabs you have, the more different pages you can run. Do note: the more tabs, the slower your browser becomes because it has to work hard to keep all tabs going. This may cause your computer to slow down as well. Closing some tabs or restarting the browser from time to time may help keep the speed up.

3. How do I copy-paste?

There are two ways of copy-pasting. One works with keyboard commands and the other with mouse commands. You could combine both if you like.

Mouse commands:

Usually a link in an address bar will instantly completely be selected when you click the address bar. If the link is elsewhere or it does not get selected for some reason, you need to select it manually. Start at the first letter or last letter of a link, click and hold your mouse button and drag the cursor to the other side of the link to select it. The part you selected will usually change to blue with white letters. Once you have done that, you right-click on the blue. A menu will open in which you can click on ‘copy’. You open a new tab or a new browser, right-click on the address bar and select ‘paste’. Then you click on the arrow to go or press enter to visit the website you just entered in the address bar. You can also right-click in a message editor on the forums, farm, e-mail or the chat screen of the farm, skype, etc. In every case you select ‘paste’ from the menu that pops up. The link will be added and you can send it to your friends/contacts.

Keyboard commands:

You may see these commands come by on the internets as a common way to explain copy-paste: You click the address bar to select the link. If the link does not immediately turn blue with white letters (thus selected) you can press CTRL+A simultaneously. This CTRL+A command selects all in the reach of the page you are on. If you would click on the text on this post and then press CTRL+A it will select the entire page, including the menus. Basically all text the computer can find on that page will be selected. This may be good to know in case you wanted to quickly select a large area of text. Do note that this option will not be very selective and if there is any text you did not want to select you will have to use the click and drag method described before or remove the superfluous text after pasting.

Now you have selected the text, you will not use your mouse to find the copy button, but you will press CTRL+C simultaneously. This will copy the text.  A copy of what you selected has now been stored invisibly on your clipboard. A clipboard is a hidden place in your computer that memorizes things you copied. Sometimes the clipboard will remember something you do not need any longer. If the computer tells you there is something on your clipboard and asks if you want to keep it, think about what it may be and if it is not important any longer you can allow it to get rid of it.

Now you go to the place you want to put this text or link (forum message, chat, address bar on a different tab, etc), click so a typing cursor appears and you press CTRL+V simultaneously. This will paste your message/link wherever you clicked. All you need to do now is press enter to visit the page or finish your post/message and send it.

4. How do I take a screenshot?

For Windows users: you can use your keyboard to do so. Take a look at it. Usually right above the backspace key or somewhere near that, you will see a button with Prt Sc on it. This means Print Screen (or take a print/photo of the screen). What colour is this text? If it is blue, you need an Fn key (located next to the left hand Ctrl key or anywhere on the bottom row of keys on your keyboard). If it is white or grey you can probably just press it or you need to use the Alt key to make it work. If you use a second key, you always press them simultaneously. This will take a photo of your screen and whatever is shown on it and store it to your clipboard. The clipboard is explained in the alinea above that explains copy-pasting. Now you will need to open an image editor. Most computers come with the standard Paint program. Look for this program or open a different progam like Photoshop. Once you have opened the program (I will continue with Paint) you see a white square or rectangle area in the top left part of the screen. Now you can use 2 commands. You either right-click somewhere on that white area and select ‘paste’ or you click on the white area and press CTRL+V simultaneously. The screenshot you took will appear in the editor. Now you may want to trim the edges to hide some of your computer’s menu bars so not everybody can see all your personal stuff or you may want to wipe out how many dollars you have on your farm account because that is personal and secret account data. Select a cutting tool to cut the edges off and select a painting or erasing tool to remove your dollar/gold amount or any other part of the printscreen you do not want to show or that is not relevant. You can even add a shape to it like an arrow or a circle to draw the attention to the part of the screenshot you want to discuss. Once you are done editing, you can go to ‘File’ on the menu bar and then click on ‘save’ (or ‘save as…’). Type a name for your image and select the correct image file to save it as. The most common image file is the .jpeg one. You could also use other types, but not every website supports all image types to be uploaded. Once your image has been saved you can use it wherever you want.

For Mac users: You need to use the Command, Shift and 3 keys simultaneously to take a screenshot of your entire screen. This will already save the image as a .png file on your desktop. You can open the image in an image editor to edit it and save it as a .jpeg. More ways to take screenshots of parts of your screen can be found on the Apple support page, right here: (click here)

5. How to share an image online?

In an e-mail or while filling out a support form, you get the option to add or upload images directly from your computer. However, in the farm chat, message system and sometimes on the forums (it has not properly worked for me on the forums for a long time now) you cannot upload an image directly. If you wanted to share it anyway, you will have to create a link for it. There are several ways to do so.

  1. The public way. If this is an image you do not mind about the whole world being able to find or see, you can upload it quickly on an image link creating site like http://www.tinypic.com. If you upload your image there, it will create a set of 4 links. Usually the Instant Messaging link is the best one to use in messages on the farm, the direct lay-out or boards and forums link is good for usage on the forums to embed the image in your post (show it in full size in the post instead of a click-able thumbnail). For an explanation about embedding the image by the use of BB-codes, see the all about the forum post (click here).
  2. The more secure way. If you do not want the entire world to be able to find it, you could upload your image on a site like http://www.mediafire.com. It will require you to create an account, but there are more sites that allow you to create a link and only show the file to the people that have that link. Mediafire allows you to upload anything you like (also word documents, excel files, PDF files, etc.). Once uploaded you can retrieve a link and give that link to the people you want to show the picture to, so they can view it. You will need to google to find more programs/sites that offer the same more secure way.
  3. The easy way. If you own a Social Media account like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, you can upload your image there and use the image link it has created to share it.

I hope this post has helped you become more computer savvy. If you have any particular questions about how to use the forums or how to do certain things on the forums, see our all about the forums post (click here). Easter eggs on the farm

Just a little funfact about the farm. The developers have hidden easter eggs. No, not the real coloured eggs you need to find around easter, but little interactive jokes. You need to perform a certain action to see them.

There is one in the village:

Fishy fish

If you open the middle drop down (where you can change farms) and go to ‘My Village’ you will see all the farms that are in your co-op. In the middle is your own farm. Three roads run out from it. If you follow the road that goes down, you more or less end up at one of the lakes/ponds. Double click that lake and a little fish jumps out! Want to see a screenshot? Check it out over here: (click)

There is at least one on the main farm:

The dog

If you hover your mouse over the dog, it will ‘sniff’ the cursor. When you click the dog, it will actually roll on its back to get a nice belly rub!

There are two that were found so far on the candy farm:

The monster of Loch Ness aka Nessy

Want to see Nessy float by in the small lake beside your farm on the right? Then you will need to click the apples on the apple tree above the lake. 4 apples need to fall for Nessy to show up and float by shortly. Make sure you actually precisely click the apples, click them all several times, 4 will eventually fall off the tree and Nessy will show up!

Change the colour of your houses’ and factory’s smoke

In order to that you need to find the little cartoony people in the woods. Each one will give you a different kind of smoke. There is blue, red and dark grey smoke for example. Be sure to click them correctly, you could click on and around each person several times to make sure you hit the right spot to change the colour of your smoke!

Did not start a candy farm? No problem! You can visit any other person’s candy farm to see these funny elements as well!

Cannot get Nessy to show up and want to see a picture? Check this link: (click here)

The county fair

County fair event 2

The county fair is around the corner and everybody is very busy preparing. Flyers have been handed out and everybody is getting pieces of candy to make sure they’ll come visit once the fair has arrived. The event asks us to help find all the flyers and pieces of candy in two different ways. The flyers have been scattered around your farm and will drop with every harvest. The pieces of candy are hidden in the farm environment, 10 at a time, each day a new set. The event runs for 10 days.

There are several rewards bound to this event. If you manage to find all flyers for the first part of the event, you will get a Classic Carousel decoration. If you manage to find all 10 candies each day, you get several rewards. For 30 pieces of candy you get 1 rose seed, for 50 pieces you get 2 tokens, for 70 pieces you get 2 seaweed humus, for 90 pieces you get 30 seaweed fertilizer and finally for 100 pieces of candy (the full amount) you get a Cotton Candy Machine decoration. The Classic Carousel decoration measures 5×5 and has 65 happiness points, the Cotton Candy Machine decoration measures 4×4 and has 37 happiness points.

County fair event

For flyer drop rates, check this sheet (click here). These are the flyers you need to find:

Flyers dark

The candies are hidden on different spots than the eggs of the Easter event were. So, where are they? Check out this picture to see if you have checked every corner of your farm to find all 10 pieces of candy every day during the county fair event!

Besides using the pictures in this post, you could also try and find your candy while visiting a different player’s farm. Once you are on their farm, the environment is still the same and the pieces of candy will be there, but you will not have the annoying exclamation marks and timers on your screen that could possibly hide some of your candies!

Candy hunting

See a location above but no clue where that would be on the big map? Don’t worry, here are all the locations again, all together in a big picture (click to enlarge):

Greta Greensmith and her deco upgrade truck

Greta Greensmith now visits our farms regularly and offers to upgrade our decos. This post will explain all about Greta. Do note that this event is only visible from level 50, sorry lower levels!

Greta is the new landscape designer of Big Farm. She will offer to disassemble and upgrade decorations to help you with all your space and lay-out issues. She pops up in the same way the architect does, as an event, luckily more regularly than Steve.

How does this work?landscape archi 6

When you click on Greta’s truck you can choose 2 options. Upgrade and disassemble. Each farm has their own decos, so you need to access the truck from the farm you want to upgrade or disassemble decorations from.

If you pick the upgrade page, you see a list of decorations available on your farm. You can pick from decorations that are actually on your farm, decorations that are in your inventory or in your drop box. Click on a decoration and you will see its information on the right. The default upgrade option is to use gold. Be careful with that! You can also choose to upgrade with dollars or decoration parts. The more often you upgrade a decoration, the more expensive each option becomes. To get decoration parts you will first need to disassemble some other decorations. Each decoration does have an upgrade limit, but don’t worry, the larger the deco, the less likely you are to reach that limit unless you own bazillions of dollars/gold/decoration parts. The limit seems to be at 8 happiness per square for now. That translates into a max of 200 happiness for a 5×5 decoration. In a picture this menu looks like this:

You have probably noticed the new colours and numbers added to the decos. These are the quality categories the deco fits in. They are placed in these categories based on their happiness per square ratio, difficulty to obtain and size. If you upgrade a decoration far enough that it improves by one quality category, you will get to see this notification:

Disassembling:

If you have any decorations on your farm, in your drop box or inventory that you do not like or are too low happiness for you to ever use again, you can disassemble them. For any disassembly you get an amount of decoration parts, depending on the value of the decoration you disassembled. This makes the use for week event decorations for high levels much better. You can now continue winning these decorations for disassembly. With the parts you got, you can upgrade some other decorations a few levels. With the check boxes you can choose which decorations Greta will show you, for example the decorations on your farm and/or the ones in your inventory and/or the ones in your drop box. If you pay a bit of gold, you can boost the amount of parts you get for the next few disassembly’s. When you choose to disassemble a decoration, you will get a warning. You will not be able to re-assemble the decoration and it will be destroyed. If you want to disassemble several decorations and want to get rid of this warning, there is a check box to remove the warning for the duration of the current event. You get to keep the decoration parts until you use them, even in between events.

It is recommended not to use the ‘from the farm’ option for disassembly. Instead, store any decorations you would like to disassemble and only show the decorations from the inventory and/or dropbox to avoid accidental dismantling of decorations built on your farm.

The disassembly window looks like this:

Some more information:

There are some decorations with an ‘S’ quality label. This is a special label and indicates that the decorations can neither be dismantled or upgraded.

It is recommended to upgrade high happiness decorations by a few happiness first. If you later decide you want to get rid of them anyway, they are worth more parts, so upgrading a deco of which you are not sure you want to keep is still worth it. The first few upgrades on every decoration are the cheapest and can easily be done with decoration parts or a few dollars.

If you want low happiness decorations upgraded for lay-out purposes, do note that the price of the upgrades increases exponentially. The higher you get the more the prices will increase and eventually they will be ‘through the roof’. Be sure to save up enough dollars and decoration parts to get this objective done.
